VViViD has been working on the ultra-gloss film for over 4 years. Patents have been registered and formulas perfected! However the actual launch of this product should have been 2021…  Due to other manufacturers racing to create their own variation of this new type of film, we had to release our materials so we can compete, more colors to come!

Installation differences:

ULTRA-GLOSS® is the closest thing you can get to OEM paint in gloss wraps. This change makes the film more difficult to prep/install since every imperfection is magnified. Here are some tips to get the best finish from your ULTRA-GLOSS film.


Installation tips 

1. Clay bar: Originally, clay bars have not been necessary for car wraps but with the dramatic increase in finish clarity, small specs and surface contaminants will show through exponentially. Although still not necessary for the integrity of the wrap, it's highly suggested for added surface clarity.

2.  Nano Air-release is there to enhance the finish of the product however it may be harder to remove trapped air on large surfaces. It is suggested to apply the film while holding excess material off the surface. This will prevent trapped air and distortions the in film. In the event of bubbles, press the bubble softly or puncture to let air out.

3. Stretchable cap: The stretch cap can be installed without removing throughout the entire wrap process. It is important to note that the cap removes pliability of the film by about 18% meaning, it's performance will be at 82% whereas the uncapped film is at 100%.  For precision cutting, seams and joints, make sure you remove the cap in those areas.

"Loved the color I ordered 60ft by 5 ft as it came in separate rolls. Its probably the only thing that bothered me more then the prepping on taking the car apart hand/wet sanding and claying. I used a heat gun from harbor freight and used the vivid gloves I ordered on Amazon. The roll was over all great material and re vamped my car back to life! My good friend wrapped my car for me after he wrapped his 2012 Accord red candy ultra gloss. That’s posted on the review for that color! Again I would’ve loved if the roll was together in one 60ft length, but we managed to stretch8."

Not something you can do solo

"Went through 60' roll entirely attempting to get started on a rear quarter panel. I couldn't get to the mirror phase before the glue lines became unbearable. Couldn't even set the film. No pressure applied to any part of the film and I had constant glue lines. I used an entire roll and it did this every attempt. No heat no stretching. Just pulled the backing paper off and attempted to set the film. As soon as I pulled it up the glue stuck to the car. Again I had applied to pressure to any area. I contacted vvivid through email to explain this, they told me to watch some videos on their website. I believe if I had multiple people to help me get the film set before pressing it into position this wouldn't be an issue though. In my opinion, this is not a do it yourself at home friendly vinyl to use. The color was excellent and the film itself felt like it was a good quality. I can't speak to any other facet of it being pliable or how long it will last."

Came fast

"This one out of my whole order of 4 came fast only downfall is it came in a huge box for 1 1x10 piece could have fit the other 3 1x10's but only got the nardo grey and still missing the other 3"

Ultra Gloss Nardo Grey

"I have to say, I am impressed. The gloss truly is representative of actual paint. Only extremely close up can you tell it is a wrap. The pliability with the protective cap still on during installation is pretty forgiving, but you will need to remove it once dealing with technical areas. It is recommended that your paint is contaminant free since this film will highlight imperfections due to its high gloss. I clay-barred my paint first and even laid the vinyl over my existing Paint Protection Film (PPF). I am happy with the results. I would recommend this product if you want something that looks like a new paint job. Thank you Vvivid!
