The new Tek R features an enhanced adhesive formula that offers even more repositionability and ease of use, along with superior durability and weather resistance.

Most carbon vinyls achieve their gloss effect by using a ‘floating laminate'; a sheet of lamination laid over ordinary carbon fiber wrap. When these films are exposed to rain or snow, moisture can seep into the air pockets between the laminate and vinyl, causing the gloss layer to peel off. With VViViD+ Tek R, the vinyl and laminate are bonded in one tough, water-resistant layer that shrugs off bad weather, staying as glossy as the day you installed it.

 

 AIR RELEASE: Unique, air-release adhesive lining features a self-collapsing diamond pattern greatly reduces lifting and bubbling.

SELF-HEALING: Tech R can sustain wrinkles minor scratches, and by simply warming it with a heat gun, it repairs itself in seconds! You can even use heat to remove wrinkles and creases during installation

PAINT SAFE: Our adhesive backing is a non-corrosive acrylic with a 10 year life span, that won't eat through coatings or react with surfaces. Safe to apply and remove.

    Carbon 4runner hood

    "Prior to this install, I have only wrapped small panels on my motorcycle, and that was with a traditional style vinyl. This product, the Tek R carbon, was used on the hood of my 2010 4Runner. The rock chips on the stock hood had become an eye sore and needed to be dealt with before it started rusting badly. I sanded the area around the chips (1/3rd of the entire hood) and prepped, primed, and painted the hood with a duplicolor product just to get it covered and smooth. The paint was not perfect, but I wet sanded it to a glassy smooth finish. The Tek R is thick but easy to work with. I left the protective film on until I was done. With some patience and a little bit of heat, it went on amazingly well. I smoothed the edges with the heat gun several times and cut them like I have watched CK do over and over again. Cycled the heat a few more times and pulled the cap. This stuff is beautiful. Super high quality and durable like a PPF. It's been a few months now and not a single chip, and it still looks fantastic. Will be ordering more! One star deducted because the top cap was all wrinkled up in one spot when I got it."

    What is MCF?
    MCF means that it the specific product (and/or sizes) are out of stock at our main warehouse so the specific products will be picked and shipped from our Secondary warehouse. Also depending where your location, our secondary warehouse only shipped to Continental USA not international :)
    What is the difference between XPO and the Plus carbon fiber? I need it for hood and roof exterior application. Can I use gloss or have to use matte?
    Hi There, Our XPO line is an older line that we have where as our +Vvivid carbon is our most recently launched carbon fiber. If you would like to order a gloss carbon fiber I would suggest going with out Tech Art Carbon. It is glossy and is intended for exterior application :) Have a great day!
    Do you take off the plastic film or leave it on ?
    Hello, There should be 2 layers for the vinyl, a clear one that is on top, and a white one underneath the vinyl to protect the adhesive. You will need to remove the clear top layer of plastic to use. If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact us. All the best ;)
    What is the difference between 2017 VVIVID+ Black Carbon Fiber & This Black Tech Art Gloss Carbon?
    Hello, Thank you for your question. To answer it, the difference is that one has a gloss finish over the vinyl (Black Tech Art Gloss Carbon) and the other does not. The design in the vinyl is more prominent in Black Carbon Fiber and than the other. However, if you are looking for a product that requires less care and maintenance, I would recommend ordering the Black Tech Art Gloss Carbon. If you are applying this to a car, you will still have to look into the care and maintenance of the vinyl to ensure its longevity.
    Hello this is 7D(high gloss) and black True R is 4D(semi gloss). and second question all carbon are 1080 ?
